2023 marks 60 years of the Australian Ballet, today the largest ballet company in the country. It’s also been eight years since the company last performed its free Ballet Under the Stars show at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, so it’s being brought back for the anniversary festivities.
It’s a mix of classical and contemporary works, with a preview from the upcoming production of Don Quixote, a thrilling duet from Le Corsaire, a piece set to Janis Joplin from last year’s stellar Kunstkamer, the playful I New Then with music from Van Morrison, and a new work called The Vow.
