The first round of the 2023 Women’s NCAA Tournament has officially ended after a jam-packed weekend of thrilling games.
Among the teams that punched their tickets to the Round of 32 were No. 2 seed UConn and No. 5 seed Louisville, two teams that went to the Final Four last season. The Huskies, led by Aaliyah Edwards, are trying to win their first national championship since 2016. Edwards put together a championship-calibre performance in the Huskies’ first-round victory over Vermont, recording 28 points on 13 of 15 shooting to go along with seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks.
