WHITE HALL — A teacher in the North Greene school district is looking to rebuild a dance team at North Greene High School “from the ground up.”
The high school will have tryouts May 21 for a dance team being formed for the 2023-24 school year. It will mark the first time the school has had a dance team in eight or nine years.
“We’ve only offered cheer for several years,” teacher Lacie Ralston said, “and I think that there are a lot of students who would like to dance.”
Ralston, a pre-kindergartner teacher at North Greene Elementary School in Roodhouse, will coach the team after being inspired by her daughter, who will be a senior next school year.
“She’s been asking me for a couple years and I kind of just put it off and put it off,” Ralston said. “I finally just said yes … that I would try.”
