Anthony Spaulding II has extensive experience as a dancer with companies such as San Francisco Ballet and Dance Theatre of Harlem.
He grew up in the Phoenix area, training at the School of Ballet Arizona. Now, he is taking on a new leadership role as interim artistic director for Southwest Ballet Theatre.
He started in the role at the end of July for Southwest Ballet Theatre, a nonprofit, preprofessional ballet company that offers classes for youth and adult performances for audiences in the West Valley. The school has between 100 to 150 students each year, and dancers range in age from 7 to adults in their 30s and 40s.
